Android Developer Challenge ( ADC ) is a competition for the most innovative applications for Android. ADC launched by Google in 2008, with the aim of giving awards to high -quality mobile applications built on the Android platform. Google offers a prize of U.S. $ 10 million in ADC I and II.
The entire field judged by a panel consisting of experts in the field of mobile devices, mobile telecommunications, software development and technological innovation. Google chose the jury of members of the Open Handset Alliance, Google and mobile experts.

Android Developer Challenge I
Android Developer Challenge was first announced in January 2008, with the participation of the date of receipt of submission 2 January to 14 April 2008. With participants from more than 70 countries and a total of 1788 entries application.
Developers from the United States accounts for one third of the total applications, while the rest come from countries like Germany, Japan, China, India, Canada, France, Britain, and others. Applications that come representing diverse application areas, including games, social -networking application, utility and productivity and developer tools.
Android Developer Challenge II
ADC II announced on May 27, 2009, inviting developers to submit their applications to one of the ten categories of ADC II in August. Category are:
a. Education / Reference ( education )
b. Games: Casual / Puzzle (game )
c. Games: Arcade / Action (game )
d. Social Networking ( social networking )
e. Lifestyle ( lifestyles )
f. Productivity / Tools ( tool)
g. Media (multimedia )
h. Entertainment ( entertainment )
i. Travel (travel )
j. Misc ( others)
Applicants can enter their applications into a single category only. The winners were selected after two rounds of assessments carried out by thousands of users of Android and the official jury panel. Google announced the winners of the ADC II on November 30, 2009, with SweetDreams, What the Doodle!? and WaveSecure nominated to be the overall champion.
